2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Earlier this year Dodge got the entire automotive community talking and excited when they announced that they will be releasing the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Which was the fastest production muscle car coupe that has ever been produced, and has an unbelievable 707 horsepower. Dodge recently unveiled a second Hellcat model that is supposed to be ever faster than the Challenger, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. We have had many customers coming in to Dave Syverson Auto Center Albert Lea MN to ask us questions about the new Charger Hellcat. So we’ve decided to dedicate this blog post to telling you all about the new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is the world’s only four-door muscle car and will feature the same 6.2 liter, HEMI, eight-cylinder Hellcat engine as the Challenger. This engine produces an unbelievable 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Surprisingly, the Charger is actually slightly faster than the Challenger, even though they share the same engine.
Dodge was able to make the Charger slightly faster than the Challenger through improved aerodynamics. The Charger has a 12 percent lower drag coefficient, which results in a slightly higher top end. It has a top speed of about 204 miles per hour, which is around five miles per hour faster than the Challenger Hellcat.
Dodge realizes that 707 horsepower is probably far too much for the average driver to handle. So they are selling the Charger Hellcat with two different key options, just like they did with the Challenger. So customers who purchase a new Charger Hellcat will get a black key fob and a red key fob. The black fob only allows you to unleash 500 horsepower, which is plenty for the average person. They also have a red key fob available for those who seek all the power that they can get. This fob allows you to unleash the Charger Hellcats full 707 horsepower.
