Reveal of the 2015 Chrysler 300
When the Chrysler 300 was first revealed in 2005 it was one of the most revolutionary automotive designs that had ever been created. However, the second generation that came out in 2011 proved to be a step backward for the model and was somewhat of a disappointment. The reveal of the 2015 Chrysler 300 occurred at the Los Angeles Auto Show recently and it appears that Chrysler has fixed the mistakes that had plagued the last generation and is giving the car back some of the style that it lost in recent years.
When you compare the new 2015 Chrysler 300 side by side with the previous generation, the differences between them become very obvious. They have added countless exterior changes to this vehicle. However, the most notable change is the new larger front grille. In fact, its about 30 percent bigger than the one found on the previous generation of the Chrysler 300. They have also upgraded the cabin with many new design features such as a standard seven-inch display and the latest UConnect infotainment system.
The popular 3.6 liter, six-cylinder and 5.7 liter, HEMI, eight-cylinder engines both carry over unchanged from the previous model year. However, the biggest change on the powertrain for this new model year has to do with the transmission. They will be adding the same TorqueFlight eight-speed transmission that is found in the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat models, which will help to make this vehicle more fuel efficient than ever.
Another thing that will help out with fuel efficiency is the new cast aluminum axles and electric power steering that will be found on all of the trim levels. They’ve also added some new and improved active safety features, adaptive cruise control, and more on this new redesigned 2015 Chrysler 300.
