2015 Nissan GT-R Review
One of the baddest sports cars on the planet this year will be the 2015 Nissan GT-R. We are very excited about the new 2015 Nissan GT-R here at Dave Syverson Nissan, MN. So we decided to write a blog that showcases some of its new features in this 2015 Nissan GT-R review.
Obviously, the biggest upside to owning a Nissan GT-R is that you are purchasing an extremely fast supercar. In fact, the upgraded Nismo version of the Nissan GT-R set a record lap time at the Tokyo Motor Show for volume production cars with a time of 7 minutes, 8 seconds. The Nismo GT-R was about 50 seconds faster than the 556 horsepower Cadillac CTS-V’s 2008 lap time, which is quite an accomplishment.
Many people think that a big engine is the only true secret to building a fast car. However, the people at Nissan know that is very wrong. There are many little details to this car that help to make it so fast. For example, it is very aerodynamic, the rear spoiler, vents and underside of the car’s exterior of the vehicle help to shape this supercar like a bullet.
The interior of this vehicle is all about driver mobility and comfort. It has soft leather bolster seats and leather accents all around the interior. The sporty bolster style seats help to keep you in place while you are driving. They also have cut out a portion of the seat cushions to increase the amount of legroom in the car.
This vehicle has an engine that is powerful enough to put almost any car on the road to shame. It comes with a 3.8 liter engine equipped with twin turbos that pushes out about 545 horsepower. The upgraded Nismo version of this vehicle pushes out about an additional 55 horsepower by utilizing bigger GT-3 racing turbos, a higher pressure fuel pump and different ignition timing. The twin turbos in this vehicle are one of the main reasons that this car is so fast. They allow Nissan to use a lighter V-6 engine instead of the V-8 or V-10 that many other sports cars have.
Another cool feature of the Nissan GT-R is that each and every engine is assembled by hand by just one technician. Nissan only allows its best technicians to assemble GT-R engines. So there are currently only 8 people in the world who are allowed to make them.
The only potential downside to owning this vehicle is the price tag. When the GT-R was first released in America in 2009 it sold for $70,850. However, the price has increased significantly since that time. The 2015 Nissan GT-R has a starting price of $101,770. Also, if you want the upgraded Nismo version of the vehicle with all of the upgrades that helped this car break the track record at the Tokyo Motor Show it will cost you closer to $150,000.
We honestly feel that Nissan has created one of the best supercars on the market, especially the Nismo version of this vehicle. It’s fast, powerful, stylish and really turns heads.
