New 2016 Ford F-150 sport mode
When it comes to figuring out new, innovative ways to get power out of its vehicles, Ford is great about thinking on its feet. For the 2016 model year, the brand took a close look at its ever-popular Ford F-150 and decided to blend some Mustang features into the pickup’s new design. Ford also noted that the new 2016 Ford F150 sport mode isn’t the only area that the new Mustang’s features were incorporated (it’s also seen in the transmission). So, if you’ve been searching for a new, dynamically designed pickup, the 2016 Ford F150 may be the truck for you.
Ford has set the new sport mode as a standard feature on the 2015 model year trucks, and it will also appear in the 2016 Ford F-150. The idea to incorporate the new Mustang’s sport mode into the truck was due to the fact that the F-150’s lighter weight allowed it to accelerate with ease. Since that was the case, it was able to be infused with the same six-speed automatic transmission as the Mustang. The brand hopes that the feature will allow truck drivers an enhanced driving experience.
How to activate sport mode on new Ford F-150
To use the sport mode feature, drivers need only press a button. On the Ford F-150, there is a “tow/haul” mode button that drivers should press two separate times to enter into sport mode. The mode can be accessed when the truck is in two-wheel drive, four-wheel automatic drive and four-wheel drive high settings. Once this is done, the driver should experience faster acceleration and increased response from the pedals. Ford stated that drivers should feel a difference “similar to what an aftermarket modification might add to the truck, but with the benefit of maintaining the Ford vehicle warranty.”
