Fuel Prices are Dropping in the US
We’ve all heard our grandparents talk about “The good old days”, when gasoline only cost .10 cents a gallon, and they had to walk to school in the snow uphill, both ways. The days of .10 cent gallons of gasoline are gone forever unfortunately and in recent years fuel prices have climbed to levels that are higher than ever. However, we do have some good news for you, fuel prices are dropping in the US. There has been a recent trend of lowering gasoline prices that have taken place throughout the country over the last few months.
In fact, fuel prices have reached their lowest point in the past four-years. This is surprising to many people because of all of the political issues taking place in the middle east with the ISIS terrorist group who currently controls some key oil fields, but its true, prices are in fact dropping. According to fuel analysts, fuel prices have dropped again this month and could continue to drop significantly through the end of the year.
Gasoline prices have fallen to a national average of $3.37 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel. Analysts believe that if this trend of lowering gas prices continues throughout the rest of the year American’s could potentially save upwards of $2.5 billion at the pump this year.
There are several factors that have contributed to this lowering of gas prices in America. First of all, the cost of ethanol, which is blended with gasoline, has seen a dramatic reduction in price. Another factor that has led to a reduction in gas prices is a significant increase in American supply and production of gasoline here in the United States.
These lower gas prices have been a welcome change to the trend of steadily increasing gas prices that we have been experiencing for years in this country.
Consumers who would like to save even more on gasoline fuel bills should consider switching to an electric, hybrid or more fuel efficient gasoline car. There is a wide selection of new and pre-owned fuel efficient vehicles available here at Dave Syverson Auto Center Albert Lea MN.
