Chevy and Ford are Designing a Hypercar
Ford shook up the world when they unveiled their new 2017 GT model earlier this year. Chevy also has a stunning supercar with their 2015 Corvette Z06. However, neither Ford or Chevy offer a track-focused hypercar in their lineups. However, that is all about to change, because we recently found out that Chevy and Ford are designing a hypercar together. We are very excited about this announcement, and we will tell you everything that we know about this hypercar so far in this blog post.
This is very exciting news because it is the first time that Ford and Chevy has teamed up to build a complete car together. However, they have worked together on specific car components such as nine-speed and ten-speed transmission back in 2013.
Ford claims that they will be releasing 12 new performance cars before 2020. We are really hoping that this new hypercar will be apart of that dozen.
Details are still very limited on this new hypercar. Ford has refused to make any official comment at all about this new hypercar. However, an anonymous source from within General Motors was quoted saying that this new hypercar will be on the track sometime later this year, which is very exciting. “The Z06 and GT have already been well received,” according to the source. “The idea is to bring both of those cars together into a single, track-only package to take on some of the competitors already on the market.
The source at General Motors went on to say that, “It’s a really great project for both Ford and Chevy.” We completely agree with that statement, and we will be sure to provide you with more details about this hypercar as they become available to us.
