2016 Dodge Viper ACR
There has been a wave of excitement throughout the automotive community since Dodge announced that the Viper ACR was coming back, and that its lightning fast. Therefore, we have decided to dedicate this blog post to telling you everything that we know about the all-new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR so far.
This new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR boasts an aggressive 8.4-liter, ten-cylinder powertrain that is able to produce an athletic 645 horsepower. That is five more horsepower than the standard Viper and five less than the supercharged Corvette Z06. Instead of giving the ACR a bunch of extra power, they decided to equip it with an advanced and aggressive aerodynamics package that is truly unprecedented. In fact, at the VIper’s maximum speed of 177 miles per hour it delivers nearly a ton of downforce, which is very impressive. The complete aerodynamics package includes an adjustable, twin-element, carbon-fiber diffuser, carbon-fiber rear wing wing, dive plates, and extendable front splitter.
However, the high-performance upgrades don’t stop there. They have implemented a race-tuned suspension that uses coilover Bilstein shocks with ten different adjustable settings, and up to three inches of height adjustment. They had Kumho Ecsta V720 tires and 19-inch wheels designed specifically for this vehicle. This car also has some amazing stopping power. They have equipped it with carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers. Basically, this car can handle, corner, and stop like a champion, it’s also wicked fast.
Dodge also took some drastic measures to cut weight on this vehicle. Almost everything that didn’t help this car get around the track faster was eliminated. For example, the carpeting has been replaced with a light-weight alternative and the stereo system only has three speakers.
Dodge will also be offering this vehicle with their 1 of 1 customization program. So that you can be sure your Viper ACR is unlike anyone else’s.
