2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

It is a commonly held belief that the age of the muscle car is over. However, we are happy to say to those people that you may have spoke too soon. Dodge has breathed new life into the muscle car category this year with the release of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. We believe that this just may be one of the coolest muscle cars of all time, this car is no joke.

The Challenger SRT Hellcat comes with a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine under the hood. This engine pushes out an unbelievable 707 horsepower with 650 lb-lbs of torque. That makes this car faster than both the Lamborghini Aventador and the Dodge Viper. So basically, if this thing was any faster it would fly. Pennzoil even had to create a special oil to keep the monster of an engine cool and lubricated.

There are also 2 transmission options that are available for this car. Dodge allows you to pick from either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed transmission that comes on the manual version of the car is the same one used on the Dodge Viper. However, it comes with an exterior cooler and an internal fuel pump. The Hellcat also comes with an upgraded clutch. The 8-speed automatic transmission was created new especially for this car.

This car is so powerful that Dodge actually had to restrict it for the average person. They have created 2 keys for the Hellcat. They made a black key, which is given to amateur drivers and restricts the car to 500 hp and 4,000 RPM. However, there is also a red key which allows you to drive the car unrestricted, but only professional drivers are allowed to have the red key. We are hoping that the Hellcat will only be the first of many over-the-top, powerful muscle cars from Dodge and the other major automakers as well. Be sure to stop down to Dave Syverson Auto Center Albert Lea Mn to talk to us about the new SRT Hellcat and the rest of our amazing line of new vehicles.
